The Business Analysis activity can be seen from many different perspectives, in all available sets of IT methodologies and frameworks created so far. This perspective, of Innovation and Creativity is not a standard one; you can find it mostly in UI design or UX design; you can find it in internal architecture of the systems; and you can find it in sales.
Though Business Analysis activity is perceived to be one where goals are clearly defined, where the roads are clearly defined how to accomplish the goals, where is not so much room for creativity, my personal opinion was ever than actually innovation and creativity have to be valued in this activity. And probably the best way to go is the mixed-one of them with all the existing fixed-rules and methodologies. A better way to understand this is to see it as a mixed set of rules, from Waterfall and Agile.
