Ever thought that a Business Analyst can be compared with a Swiss Army Knife? I always felt like this, along with my career so far. Why? Well, sometimes I thought because I have more experience than the average people, sometimes I thought because I started my activity in IT field while still a pupil, sometimes because I was engaged in everything I do, sometimes I thought that this is due to my type (INTJ), sometimes because my balanced-brain type... or any combination of the above.
But this is me. Beyond these personal thoughts I noticed that actually most of the individuals working in Business Analysis sector tend to act like this (Swiss Army Knife). Regarding Innovation and Creativity skills, most of BAs I met proved high level of both.
Lastly, I totally agree that "Creative thinking and innovation are mandatory in business analysis and should be used as the norm rather than the exception." This is even much more mandatory than ever, since we are now in 2015-2016, when the Agile has become a "must-have" and considering that Innovation and Creativity is part of Agile. Please find in this article the norm expressed above and even more explanations and points of view regarding Innovation and Creativity.
