Migrating from Waterfall to Agile... or Integrating Agile into a Waterfall World... The last one is a very good point, expressed by Joseph Flahiff, a remarkable Board Member of PMI Agile Community of Practice.
Two different topics? Maybe yes, maybe no... but I rate them as being very similar.
Whilst Agile works great for products, it can also be integrated for projects in a quite good manner. Anyway, we should keep in mind that:
From my experience, the transition from Waterfall to Agile should be really simple, but as often, people's minds are tougher to be changed. In Agile, we should value more the involved people, the way team members interact, the communication and the collaboration between them than the processes and used tools. If you need more details on this topic, of migrating from Waterfall to Agile, please read this valued article here.

If you do the work needed to move successfully to agile e.g. a data model based on a robust and well-policed logical model, strict guidelines about technology and technical applications you may well find that you can stay where you are and your problems have diminished.

Waterfall has been the primary method for project management, but Agile has gained momentum in recent years.
