Are there specific ways of thinking, for a Business Analyst? I can say that a few ways of thinking are specific for a skilled Business Analyst, no matter the environment he is working in, Waterfall or Agile. It is what Steve Blais states too, in his article in BA Times.
Now, in the most job descriptions for a BA you will find these requirements: Critical thinking, System thinking, Strategic thinking, Analytical thinking and Visual thinking. More than I totally agree these, I think that in a perfect world every individual should think like this. While I met lots of people capable to think like this, it is still the specific set of the BA. I will post here Steve's conclusions of how Business Analysts should think:

What a better place the world would be if more individuals approached issues as Steve describes! In the meantime, this list serves as a good reminder of how BAs should think to be successful. Thank you for summarizing for us.
