If we take the traditional (Waterfall) Program Portfolio Management (PPM) and apply over it all the Agile principles and practices, the result will be the Agile Portfolio Management (APM).
For those of us who worked with traditional Program Management, it is a known fact that everything (starting with planning and finishing with software executions), had huge cycles of time, at least one year. In Agile Portfolio Management we need to adapt the whole business and development with the rules in Agile. Doing this way, we will have a Prioritization and Strategic Alignment, so the strategy will be connected with the execution.
